About me

us at the foot of victoria glacierI’m a broadcast and new media producer equally absorbed and obsessed with the arts, photography, elite amateur sport, design, and performance. I live in Vancouver, BC.

“Inklake” comes from an anthology of Canadian short stories collected and edited by Michael Ondaatje. I started using the name on my flickr site and I’ve kept it. I like the idea of anthologizing stories from a diverse pool of local talent. That’s where this blog is headed. When someone in my community does something remarkable, whether it’s here or abroad, I’ll try to find out about it and post about it.

I travel frequently, and when I do I always have a lens with me, whether it’s an iPhone, an emergency point and shoot, or my Canon 60D. I also advocate for social-profit organizations and produce for television and the web.

I’m on your site and I still don’t know what your real name is but you do fantastic work. I’m bringing Erin McLeod to Calgary for a two-day event (Nov 13-14) I’m coordinating for the grass roots soccer community here. I’d love to bring you here to compile video footage to create a similar 2 min piece for each of the four soccer leaders who will be participating.

You’ve already met Erin. Hubert Busby is the Head Coach for the Vancouver Whitecaps (W-League soccer). Charlie Naimo is the Head of Operations / Head Coach for the Pali Blues (W-League soccer). Nicci Wright is Erin’s goalkeeping coach at the Washington Freedom (WPS league soccer). Those are the four leaders.

The videos will be posted online. As you can imagine, the budget is pretty small. Actually, a budget for this didn’t exist until I tripped across your video of Erin. It’s beautiful. I hope to feature the CDN women’s soccer head coach, Carolina Morace, and a few other national team players when I do this again in February. Maybe it’s better to start thinking about how you can be involved in that one. Hmmm, I’m sorry for thinking out loud & on-the-fly but that video of Erin is on an NFL Films level and my gravitation to your work is… intense. Anyway, email me back and let’s establish a flow of communication. I’d love to work with you but I know you have to be paid for your artistry. Let’s talk! Happy Thanksgiving.

I wondered where your inklake “handle” came from.
I enjoyed reading your blog, readers comments and
seeing some of your interests and work.
    Your Daughters are beautiful.
Hopefully we can make a few turns at the AFRC reunion.

Hi Kevin, I am a graphic designer in small town Saskatchewan. I was wondering if there is a way we could use your photograph of the Lion’s Gate bridge (from under the bridge) for a thank you card we are making to thank City employees?
    Wonderful photos!
    Thank you,
