Canada wins triple gold at canoe/kayak Pan-Ams

Mallorie Nicholson of Oakville, Ont., and the canoe pairs team of Jenna Marks and Maria Halavrezos of Dartmouth, N.S., collected their third gold medals Sunday in the 200-metre finals at the Pan American canoe and kayak championships in Rio de Janeiro.
Canada finished the three-day competition with 23 medals: 11 gold, 10 silver and two bronze.
Nicholson won the three women’s canoe singles (C-1) events of 200, 500 and 1,000 metres, while Marks and Halavrezos did the same in the women’s C-2.
